Our Story

2018: One of our first dates, the beginning of our life together and the amazing moments that lay ahead.

2019: High school graduation. Joey went to Manchester, NH to play junior hockey, while Lauren started at Boston University. Our long distance began, along with weekend drives to Boston and back.

2020: The pandemic was a difficult and uncertain time, but it reunited us in Elmhurst for a few months we otherwise wouldn’t have shared.

2021: Lauren went back to Boston University, and Joey moved to Dallas to continue playing junior hockey. Car rides became flights, but we still made it work.

2022: We took a trip to Italy, which was Joey's first time leaving the country. This ignited our shared love of travel and adventure.

2023: Lauren graduated from BU and moved to Springfield for work. Joey still had two years left at the University of Illinois, but Champaign to Springfield was the closest we had been in years.

2024: We took our first trip to Paris - our favorite city in the world and the place we will honeymoon.

2025: The year we got engaged, moved to Chicago, and finally closed the distance after years apart. It was a year of new beginnings and milestones together.

2026: The year we are getting married!
