Getting to Todi

The Wedding Website of Olivia Hughes and Andrew Woods
Todi is a small hilltop town in central Italy, about half way between Rome and Florence. We strongly recommend that everyone arrives in Rome. From there, Todi is roughly a 130 km (80 miles) drive north. Getting to Todi from other airports is feasible, but expect a greater distance to travel and variable car rental options for those looking to drive an automatic vehicle. Renting a car is the easy and recommended way to get to Todi. Trains run from Rome to Orvieto and onto Todi; however, please note that these are not direct and will require additional transportation to Todi, which is 30 minutes away from the Orvieto station.

Rome–Fiumicino International Airport

For several reasons including distance to Todi, car rentals, and train accessibility, we suggest that you fly into the Rome–Fiumicino International Airport.

Rental Car

Renting a car

Renting a car is the best way to get to Todi and we suggest carpooling for those traveling in groups. Most airports offer car rentals. Please note that in Italy, like most of Europe, automatic cars are not common as they are in the States. If you can't drive stick please make sure you reserve a car that is automatic. For those who do rent a car, it is a good idea to get an international drivers license, which can be obtained for a small fee from AAA (http://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpapplc.html).

From the Rome Airport: -Exit Airport direction ROMA for 10km -Exit FIRENZE A1/E45 (GRA) for 20km -Exit 8-9-10 FIRENZE -Exit 10 left direction FIRENZE A1/E45 for 13km -Toll booth A1/E45 direction FIRENZE for 24km -Exit ORTE Merge onto PERUGIA/TERNI E45 direction Perugia for 20km. -Exit PERUGIA/CESENA/TODI -E45 direction Perugia/TODI 20km. -Exit for TODI/ORVIETO follow direction ORVIETO/BASCHI for 4km look for exit on the right to PRODO/QUADRO. Train

Train Italia

Trains run from Rome to Orvieto and onto Todi; however, please note that there is a transfer required for trains going to Todi. The train to Orvieto is direct from Rome and taxis can are available at the Orvieto station. It's a 30 minute cab ride from Orvieto to Todi.
