Things To Do

We’re so excited to share some of the places we love to go, including some breweries, pubs and restaurants we really like to frequent! If you have any specific requests for things to do, just send us a note! Our email addresses are in the FAQs section.
Troy Waterfront Farmers Market

Troy Waterfront Farmers Market

251 River Street, Troy, NY 12180
, (518) 708-4216

This Saturday farmers market is the largest in the area. Grab lunch, listen to the live music, or just wander to check out some of the Capital Region’s vendors. This is also a great opportunity to check out some of the shops around Monument Square. (And for those in the area, you may notice some vintage-y signage on some businesses downtown. They’re filming an HBO series in Troy and have altered some of the storefronts to echo the period!)

New York State Museum

New York State Museum

222 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12230
, (518) 474-5877

A favorite spot for Steve and Sara, the New York State Museum is a great — and free — source of entertainment. Some displays you can’t miss include the 9/11 memorial, the “Sesame Street” stoop, and the mastodons.

Wander along Broadway

Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

While the Saratoga Race Course is closed for the season, Broadway is still a great street to wander. Want a good beer? Druthers, RS Taylor & Sons and Pint Sized are great. Want some lunch? Putnam Market has awesome to-go sandwiches, but there are also sit-down restaurants all along Broadway. If you want to walk outside the lines, the nearby Beekman Arts District has some great local crafters. Plus, the Saratoga Spa State Park is a great place to walk around!

Brown's Brewing Company's Troy Taproom

417 River Street, Troy, NY 12180
, (518) 273-2337

Hint hint, this is the brewery next to our venue!

Rare Form Brewing Company

90 Congress Street, Troy, NY 12180
, (518) 326-4303

The Ruck

104 3rd Street, Troy, NY 12180
, (518) 273-1872

Great Flats Brewing

151 Lafayette Street, Schenectady, NY 12305
, (518) 280-0232

A great, little brewery only a couple blocks from our first Capital Region apartment.

Albany Ale and Oyster

281 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208
, (518) 487-4152

Steve has a knack for finding good, unexpected places to eat. This was one of them, after a trip to the NYS Museum.

For all the days along the way
