Rebecca and Evan originally met at Otterbein University during their freshman year when she dropped her books on the way to class and he helped her gather her belongings. That was the start of their friendship. Throughout the rest of their time in college they remained good friends; but, it wasn't until a year after they graduated their relationship grew into something more. She was working at the Ross Heart Hospital with The Ohio State University and he was completing his first year of medical school at Ohio University in Dublin. When he asked to meet for lunch one day during her break at work, they both realized that the relationship was something special. Over the course of the next two years, their relationship has flourished as their lives have evolved with Rebecca soon to be graduating from nursing school at Mount Carmel while still working full time and Evan graduating from medical school and applying for his residency within Internal Medicine. Though many of their date nights have consisted of studying together, they also enjoy spending time with their friends and families, exploring the outdoors, staying active through sports, and "nerding out" together to either medicine or Star Wars. They have been each other’s greatest supporters throughout these busy times and are excited for what the future and God has in store for them as husband and wife. They will soon be moving to Cleveland, Ohio to start their new careers at the Cleveland Clinic. Rebecca will be within the CVICU and Evan will be begin his residency training in their Internal Medicine Program.
