How We Met

08.14.10

Growing up about 20 minutes apart in our hometown of Baltimore, MD, we originally met one summer night in August between our Junior and Senior years of high school. Mutual friends had invited each of us over to their house for just another weekend with friends. We both immediately were drawn to each-other and loved talking about the music we wished to see live in person, our plans for the end of summer before school started back up, and quickly exchanged phone numbers. After a few more dates, Nick invited me to the state fair as our Summer came to a close. On the top of the ferris wheel (how corny) , he asked me if I would be interested in dating and I've been in love with my best friend ever since.

The Proposal

09.14.19

Nick and I took a huge leap of faith by moving to San Diego, CA in July 2019 to follow through on our dream to explore the west coast and make the most of our time after Nick finished up his doctorate degree at the University of Delaware. In the span of just a few short weeks we met some of our best friends who have introduced us to so many new and exciting experiences and made us feel at home away from our friends and family in Baltimore. The morning of Nick's birthday, he suggested we take a hike at Torrey Pines State Reserve to take a few photos of some friends who just announced they are expecting a baby girl. As I was getting ready, Nick persistently suggested that I didn't need to wear hiking clothes, because we may getting pictures of us taken too. I did not take the hint and just kept saying, "Who doesn't wear hiking clothes on a hike?" After hiking for a bit, we stopped at a particularly scenic outlook over the ocean to take pictures of Peter and Kim. Just like Nick suggested, Peter offered to take a picture of us. After one snap, I looked over and Nick was down on one knee. I was in disbelief, said "YES," and we were engaged!
