We met by chance in St Pete, FL walking on John’s Pass sandbar. We arrived on different boats with our friends. We said hi and hit it off! We had a few things in common. We’d both grown up in the same area of Connecticut, recently relocated to Tampa/St Pete, were dog parents and both loved being outside & on the water.

We were on a bear-viewing/fishing excursion in Alaska. We had just landed via sea plane on Crescent Lake National Park. We were on a john boat just in front of a brown bear when Howie got down on one knee & pulled the ring out of his pocket. Howie even caught a salmon to cook for dinner afterwards :)
