If you only have time for one outdoor activity, this is it. You can take a casual stroll along the river or hike the "Misery Ridge" trail for a panoramic view of the Cascades. (40 mins from Bend / 15 mins from Redmond).
A stunning 97-foot waterfall that is very easy to access. The main viewpoint is just a short walk from the parking lot, but you can also hike further up to see several more falls.
Right in the middle of Bend, you can drive or hike to the top of this dormant volcano for a 360-degree view of the city and the entire mountain range.
Much more than a typical museum—it’s a mix of wildlife (otters, bobcats, owls), history, and art. It’s widely considered one of the best attractions in the state and is a great option for all ages.
A beautiful area for walking, shopping, and dining along the Deschutes River. You can watch the river surfers (if the river is open by memorial day weekend) at the Whitewater Park or walk the paved river loop.
This is a staple for us. Great beer, great food, and great outdoor seating.
Another spot that we've gone to numerous times. Located right in Downtown Bend, it's a classic spot for a local pint and great pub food.
I don't think we've actually been here but it looks great and seems to be popular! It has an incredible view of the mountains at sunset and a very casual, family-friendly vibe.

If you’re staying closer to the venue in Redmond and don't want to drive into Bend, this is a great spot with a big patio and several food carts to choose from.
This is the most convenient spot for morning coffee if you're not making it at your accommodation. The coffee is decent and they offer a selection of pastries, smoothies, and light breakfast and lunch options.
Probably the best breakfast in Redmond. Mo's Egg House is a popular local diner with traditional "homestyle" diner food. According to food critic Jared Stewart, their chicken fried steak is wonderful!
