Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Justine Houghton and David Welch
Check out some iconic stops on our romance train. We are listing some of our personal faves, but a thing we've learned about New Orleans is that if there's a lot of hype or a line for a place, it's probably worth it. So those landmark places are still worth checking out!

Bar Tonique

820 North Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 324-6045

This is right around the corner from the Rathbone Mansions! One of our favorite bars in the city. You should go there for the bacon bloody Mary on Saturday.

Backstreet Cultural Museum

1116 Henriette Delille Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 657-6700

We loved this place and it's just around the corner from the mansions. You can learn about the culture of Second Lines, Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs, Mardi Gras Indians and more, and get really up close to those costumes, they are incredible. And if you're lucky someone will offer you a yellow beer out of a cooler stashed under a table. ***very sadly the Backstreet Museum suffered severe damage during Hurricane Ida and are currently closed. They need to build a new building and are accepting donations: https://www.backstreetmuseum.org/new-building-fundraiser

The Joint

701 Mazant Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 949-3232

BBQ YUM.

R Bar & Royal Street Inn

1431 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 948-7499

Dave is probably going to find a way to get you here at some point during the weekend so maybe doesn't even need to be on this list.

Haunted Walking Tour via Free Tours on Foot

Spooky Scary. Learn about Nicolas Cage's house. 10/10 would do again.

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

1 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 565-3033

Here you can see where Dave took Justine to see the Sea Otters as a surprise on her birthday. You will squeal.

Cane and table

1113 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA

We make sure to make it to happy hour here at least once every time we are in town. It's a true delight.

The Franklin

2600 Dauphine Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 267-0640

For a nice dinner.

Molly's at the Market

1107 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 525-5169

Come for the people watching, stay for the frozen Irish coffee. This where Dave proposed spending Valentines Day together on their first trip - big move - he took her to see The Princess Bride.

Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits

600 Poland Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 948-9111

Live music in the wine garden every night. This is where Justine asked Dave if it would be OK for them to be Facebook friends. It was 2016.

Parasol's

2533 Constance St, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 354-9079

This is Dave's favorite Po'Boy spot.

Guy's Po-Boys

5259 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 891-5025

This is Justine's favorite Po'Boy spot.

Ogden Museum of Southern Art

925 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 539-9650

This is just a lovely museum.

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 528-1944

*this is the top attraction in NOLA, maybe the country? We have never been but would heartily recommend based upon other people's opinions.
