Question
Hotel or lodging recommendations?
Answer
We’ve reserved a block of hotel rooms in the nearby Hyatt Place Detroit/Royal Oak (check out our "Travel" page for booking details and reservation instructions). Prefer something different? There are lots of great hotel and Airbnb options throughout the Royal Oak and Ferndale areas. And since Royal Oak is about 20 minutes from Detroit, staying downtown in the city may also be a fun option if you’d like to make a weekend of it!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The wedding will be entirely indoors, though if you would like to burn the true midnight oil, we plan to walk outside to the after party. Either way, you can leave the sunscreen and bug repellant at home.

What is the dress code for the wedding?
Answer
Dress to impress in your best cocktail attire. Gentlemen, please feel free to wear a suit or sport jacket and dress shirt. Ladies, a cocktail dress or dressy jumpsuit is great. Though our wedding will be indoors, you may consider a light jacket or sweater in case it gets chilly.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
We invite you to arrive at 5:00pm and no later than 5:15pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm.

Transportation between hotel and wedding?
Answer
We won’t have organized transportation to and from local hotels, but rideshare options like Uber and Lyft are readily available. If you’re staying in a room at our hotel block (see our "Travel" page), the wedding venue is about a 6-minute walk from the hotel.

Parking in Royal Oak?
Answer
Details about parking in Royal Oak can be found at https://www.romi.gov/1553/Parking-in-Downtown-Royal-Oak. Please be mindful of maximum time limits if using street or surface lot parking. The wedding venue does not have dedicated parking, but there are many options in the immediate vicinity. If you plan to drive your own vehicle, we recommend budgeting a bit more time just in case. There are a few parking garages very near the venue, and we might recommend the 11 Mile Road Parking Garage for the wedding ceremony & reception.

How about food allergies, dietary restrictions, and other meal preferences?

Please indicate any and all personal dietary information on the formal invitation's RSVP.

While this is a hard decision for us, we respectfully ask that you please enjoy the ceremony and reception without the kiddos.

Are you registered?
Answer
Our presents is your presence. By that, we mean that helping to celebrate this most joyous occasion with us is the most meaningful gift you could offer. If you are very insistent on getting us a gift, we are currently building a small registry and will be adding items in the coming weeks.

Is it cool if I take pictures?
Answer
By all means. Please feel free to capture whatever memories in whichever format you wish. Alex is constantly photogenic so no issue there, but please, for the love of all that is holy, only take photos of Nate at the one angle in which he does not fully resemble a hung-over Steve Buscemi.
