If I were to describe Chris and I's relationship in one word, it would be unexpected. Chris and I met through a mutual friend at Liberty in the spring of 2019. We did not see each other much other than a few group hang outs here and there after that. Neither of us thought our meeting would amount to much more than a mutual acquaintance. In the fall of 2019, we started running into each other more often. Chris was in his 1L year and I was working for a Physical Therapist in the area. Out of the blue it became a running joke that Chris and I should be dating. This joke when on for quite a few months... In January of 2020, I had started nursing school so I would go to the law school to study sometimes. One night I had the bright idea to leave a note on Chris' desk that said "a practice EPI Pen costs $8 on amazon." (I honestly cant remember why we had this little inside joke about EPI Pens but little did we know a few months later Chris would be rushing me to the hospital while having a major allergic reaction in need of an EPI pen HAHA.) The next day after I left that note, Chris texted me multiple screenshots of various types of practice EPI Pen kits. We texted back and forth for about week, Chris asked me on a date to RA Bistro, and the rest was history. Our romance was very unexpected (much like the rush of EPInephrine), however we both knew very early on that our relationship was different. We had no idea how we were going to make it work, but it was apparent the Lord wanted us together so we strove to be obedient. Every step of the way the Lord has had a hand in our lives and in our relationship. That is why when Chris got down on one knee on the sandy beach of Tybee Island, July 10th, my answer was instinctively yes. Our time together has been the greatest blessing in our lives. We are so excited for marriage and are thankful that you all will be able to celebrate with us in Lynchburg, VA!
