In 2018, Hope was early in her career, dedicated to serving her community through local government while working under the leadership of Pennsylvania State Representative Joanna McClinton. At the same time, Jason worked with world-renowned artist King Saladeen, using art as a bridge for community connection and inspiration. In the years that followed, they continued working together on community programming; partnering on initiatives designed to uplift and inspire Southwest Philadelphia. In 2022, while serving together at the Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway created to feed families in need, their connection began to grow - a spark that would soon reshape both of their lives. That same year,Hope was preparing to take a new step in her career, and Jason offered his support as she prepared; a simple gesture that became the spark that changed everything. Around that same time, Hope supported Jason as he organized CMI Community Day for youth in Southwest Philly. Through those shared moments of encouragement, support and purpose, they began to see the reflection of their own hearts in one another. Their connection quickly grew into a friendship built on faith, purpose, and service. From there, love took root — and together they’ve built a partnership grounded in gratitude. A defining moment in their relationship came in 2023, when Hope traveled to Ghana, West Africa — Jason’s home. Setting foot on the continent she had learned to know and love throughout life brought a powerful connection to culture, history, and, most of all, HOPE! The memories created were second to none, and the experience deepened their connection, faith in God, and purpose in ways that continue to guide their love to this day. In September 2026, Hope and Jason will unite their lives as one in Ghana, West Africa, entering a covenant blessed by God. In that meaningful place, they will lean on His promises as they step into the next chapter of their journey. Why Ghana? For us, Ghana represents more than just a destination- it symbolizes legacy, culture, and connection. We want to expand this experience for our friends and family, many of whom have never visited the continent of Africa, inviting them to see and feel all the beauty that Ghana has to offer. From its rich traditions and welcoming spirit to its vibrant art, music, and history, we hope this celebration allows our loved ones to experience the warmth of the culture that has shaped so much of our journey together. Ghana is where our hearts found deeper meaning, and we can’t imagine a more fitting place to begin our forever.
