The Love Story for Shaunna and Leonard began in the Spring of 2010. He first met his soon-to-be wife through the frames of a wall-hanging portrait. The two were formerly introduced during a social gathering at Shaunna’s college home. Convinced of fate, Leonard searched for the perfect time to make conversation with Shaunna. When the opportunity arose, Leonard asked Shaunna the only question he could conjure; “Can I help you wash the dishes?” Through long phone conversations lasting well into the night, they bonded over their love for cooking, family, jokes and competitiveness. Little fun fact, Shaunna beat Lenny in billiards the first time they ever played against each other 😊. It's true what they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Attending different campuses and living in different states, the couple relied heavily on brief moments of joy and public transportation. The cramped bus rides at 6:30am... nor the funk of 100 travelers on a rainy day could stop true love from happening. The first time Lenny told Shaunna he loved her was in the form of numbers, 1 4 3 (I Love You). Their mental, emotional, spiritual love is undeniable. Now one child and nearly ten years together, we cannot wait to tie the knot and begin our journey as #HookForever.
