When Shelby was attending graduate school at the University of Miami, she started working at a local restaurant just to have some extra fun money. When she first started working at the restaurant, she felt like Kevin strongly disliked her. Every conversation she tried to have with him ended with him walking away in the middle of the conversation. Come to find out that Kevin was so intimidated and distracted by Shelby's immense beauty that he could barely hold a conversation with her. After some liquid courage one evening, Kevin gained the confidence to strike up a conversation and make a move. One thing led to another, and here we are together celebrating our future together!

After 10 days of back and forth, not knowing where she stood with Kevin, Shelby took the initiative and had 'the' conversation. Gifting Kevin a bottle of Tullamore Dew -- the first drink we shared together, Shelby made their relationship official.

While planning a recent trip to Alaska, Kevin got the idea to propose on a glacier in Denali National Park. We were going to take a flight tour from Talkeetna around the National Park -- this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Kevin picked out the perfect ring and contacted the perfect photographer, Kristian Irey. The day we were scheduled to take the flight tour was rainy and overcast. This was a far cry from the perfectly sunny and warm day before. Plan A turned into Plan B. We learned that while a glacier landing was not possible, we were still able to fly around the Alaskan Range that decorates the landscape of Denali. Frantically texting the photographer, Kevin and Kristian devised a plan to do a surprise proposal in a beautiful fern garden set against the Talkeetna River. During our photoshoot, Shelby saw it coming from a mile away. However, she was still quite surprised when it happened. Kristian was fortunate enough to snap some photos of the proposal and of Shelby ugly crying. We finished up our photoshoot in the refreshing Alaskan rain in the most beautiful place.
