I've known Kyle 'Cold Lake' McKee since my first year in university. We've been classmates, roommates, coworkers, travel buddies, etc. I have grown to not just appreciate, but rely on Kyle's big heart, his loving personality and selflessness. Our friendship has definitely stood the test of time. As we are no longer able to be wreak havoc and be complete nuisance to our university residence at 2am in the morning, our friendship looks a little different these days. Every so often Kyle would stop by after work in his corporate dress clothes, help himself to a Gingerale, and we'd talk about anything we can think of. Very frequently you can catch us talking on the phone for hours about a football match yet to be played. Now Kyle and his wife Anji are super close friends to Kath and I, his family is pretty much my family and there isn't enough words to describe the great friend that he is. I've known Kyle for over 7 years now and what I can confidently say is, Kyle is not just my best man, he is the overall best man!

My best and only blood sister, we have gone through many years relating on the struggles of 3 brothers ;). But as I entered my young adult years, Stace has become one of my greatest supporters, confidante, and advice giver on all things Jesus and life. She's the one I call on a weekly basis and who I always come to for the smallest trivial questions about outfit choices, to questions about good and evil and everything in between. The best times have come from unexpected conversation or discussion about some controversial topic, ordering pizza in hotel rooms, or watching movies after the kids have gone to bed. She will stand up for what she believes in, but she has so much care for the people around her and I am very thankful to have her as a sister and my maid of honour!

I met Nick in a very unique way. I like to call it online dating because we were added to a group chat and the people that added us left the group chat. So it was just Nick and I and we just texted each other for a while. A long while later I met his sister (Kathy) and was reintroduced to Nick in the flesh and it took us a while to realize we actually knew each other from somewhere. I have come to know Nick a lot more these past few years and he probably doesn't know this, but I have grown a deep admiration for who he is. I deeply appreciate his vast musical talent, the natural calm and wisdom he brings and the way he constantly points to GOD through his words and action. I feel more than blessed to turn this great friend into a brother. Nick is also my family doctor who I come to for all my medical advice. I consult him, then I argue the correctness of anything he tells me. But it's ok, because he is still in med school, so until he is licensed, it's fair game!
Nicolle Ioanidis

Nicolle was my first sister in law and we have known each other for about 9 years. When she married my brother, I could tell she had such a sweet and caring soul and over the years, her life has shown that again and again. Nicolle is the best person when it comes to deep conversations because she is a great listener. Many of these conversations happened when I lived with them for two months last year and it was such a great time. Her generosity and hospitality was shown widely in her delicious meals and giving me a place to live during school! Never has she hesitated at an opportunity to help another person and I have seen this many times in my life. I'm very excited to have her stand with me on my wedding!

My little brother that is not so little anymore. I've literally know him for all of his natural life. Up until I moved to Canada, Luther was my best friend. We have a huge age gap between us, but that does not stop us from arguing about who has better music taste, better fashion sense, and better FIFA playing skills. Unfortunately we were not able to see each other for quite some time while I was doing my undergrad, but now that we live in the same city again, our lives are interwind together in many ways! I appreciate a lot of things about Luther. Though he has the tendency to make me feel old sometimes, he is a very caring and level headed person. He is super fun to hang around, whether that's one on one or with my group of friends, many that are now his as well. I can think of all the time we spent and the amount of fun we had growing up together and how that has not changed at all. Though I give him a hard time sometimes and he returns the favour, I appreciate that our growth has continued side by side and is entering new territories!
Ayla Ioanidis

Ayla and I have been sisters for almost a year now and it has been a privilege as I have gotten to know her over the past couple years. She is hard working, determined, and does not change who she is to impress others. Her visits from Calgary allowed us to connect and grow our relationship while she and Nick were dating and now it feels like we have known each other forever. Being part of her wedding last year also allowed us to work together and get deeper in our connection. Ayla is a very get-at-it person and she has helped me stay on top of wedding planning, which I have really appreciated! She's always willing to contribute and help in any way possible, making life easier for others. Honour and I love any time we are able to get together with Nick and Ayla because it is always a great time with great people!
Justin Marshall

I met Justin on the 25th of May 2021. I know this cause that was the day I met Kathy as well. From the first moment I met Justin, we had the most intense conversation about faith. Very little has changed since then. This is in fact one of the many things that has made our bond so close. Justin challenges me in many ways. We have had so many fun adventures over the years and each one has brought us closer. I don't think I've learnt more from anybody my age than I have from Justin in so many different ways. Justin has a big heart for people, he stands for what is right in every situation I've seen, and is not afraid to point out his own flaws so you can learn from them. I have come to really appreciate and rely on Justin's consistency over the years. I know I can always count on him. Justin is that friend I never knew I needed, but I am more than grateful to have. At this point, with the way we encourage each other, argue with each other, challenge each other, it feels like we are brothers more than anything!
Candace Quewezance

Candace and I have known each other for almost 8 years and basically since the moment we met, we have been best friends. She was the first one to welcome me when I started at a new high school and even when both of us have had seasons of leaving/moving away, we have stayed connected and our friendship has not been hindered. From late night Don's runs, to mountain trips, to sleepovers in the basement, Candace's friendship has been so valuable to me. She is always just a phone call or a walk around the block away. Our Jesus talks are one of my favourite parts as we help each other grow closer to Him. I am so excited to have her with me on this special day!
Steve Lee

Steve is the one I can't remember how we met or how we became friends. In my mind, Steve has always just been a very close friend. When I talk about wreaking havoc on campus and being a nuisance with Kyle, Steve was always right there, and always the one leading the charge. Steve and I have also been course mates, roommates, coworkers, and much more. One of the things I appreciate about Steve is his openness. With Steve you're getting what you see and there's no hidden motive behind what he tells you. Even though we disagree on a lot of things, he is one of my closest friends for 2 reasons, (one) having different beliefs does not scare me, and (two) I always know what I am getting with Steve! This is very refreshing to me. He has one of the biggest servant hearts I've seen. I admire the way he pays attention to people's needs and make you feel seen and heard, while also being the life of the party. Steve is also very multi talented, and is super smart. Steve is that friend that never shows up to class, but will always get a better grade than you. Always! Our relationship took a pause when Steve went off to the military to serve his country, but since his return, we have become closer than ever!

From the minute that Honour connected us, the spark between Sama and I was evident. Before we had even met in person, I felt like Sama was already one of my closest friends, so when we met, we were inseparable. When I went to Kenya a couple years ago, Sama saw the crazy side of me and she not only didn't get scared away, but she let her own crazy side out as well ;) I have felt comfortable with her from the beginning which has made her friendship so precious to me. She is a great listener and does not judge someone's struggles. Seeing her again this past Fall was amazing but it was much too short, so I cannot wait to have her with us on our wedding!
