If you’re planning to spend some extra time in San Francisco, we highly recommend visiting the Exploratorium—an iconic museum where science, art, and human perception come together. It’s an interactive experience for all ages - though if you plan to be in town prior to the wedding, Thursday nights are an adults-only experience called After Dark with alcohol served and a DJ playing music (6-10pm).
No trip to San Francisco is complete without experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge. Whether you walk, bike, or simply admire it from a distance, the iconic orange-red span is a symbol of the city’s charm and grandeur. For the best views, head to Battery Spencer or Crissy Field, where the bridge stands proudly against the backdrop of the bay.
While you’re in San Francisco for our wedding celebration, don’t miss the chance to experience the magic of Golden Gate Park! This sprawling urban oasis is a favorite of ours—perfect for a peaceful stroll or an adventure-filled day. Discover the serene Japanese Tea Garden, admire the vibrant blooms at the Conservatory of Flowers, or dive into the wonders of the California Academy of Sciences. We recommend walking, biking, or just having a nice picnic on one of the large lawns.
A visit to San Francisco wouldn’t be complete without wandering through the bustling streets of Chinatown. Immerse yourself in vibrant culture, colorful shops, and delicious eats. We highly recommend to stop by Golden Gate Bakery for their legendary egg tarts—flaky, custardy perfection that’s worth every minute of the line, but don't forget to bring cash!!
For our Vietnamese guests—or anyone craving authentic Vietnamese culture and cuisine—a trip to Little Saigon in San Jose is well worth the one-hour drive from San Francisco! Explore bustling markets, specialty shops, and some of the best Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam. From savory bowls of pho to freshly baked banh mi, you’ll find all the comforting flavors of home. Our favorite restaurant is HUE Restaurant which is slightly away from the main center, in Silver Creek Plaza - be sure to order multiple orders of the bánh bèo when you're there.
For an unforgettable photo of San Francisco, head up to Twin Peaks—where sweeping panoramic views showcase the city’s skyline, Bay Bridge, and beyond. It's worth the visit either in the middle of the day or late at night for the best shots of SF. You can drive up to Christmas Tree Point or do a short hike from one of the nearby neighborhoods.
