State Fair of Texas
The 2026 State Fair of Texas, runs September 25th - October 18th, if you're interested in making it part of your weekend plans. The fairgrounds are located approximately 2 miles from our reception venue and about a 50 minute drive from St. Philip's.
National Soccer Hall of Fame
The National Soccer Hall of Fame is located about a 10 minutes from St. Philip's and about 45 minutes from our reception venue.
National Videogame Museum
A place where you learn about the videogame industry’s rich history, where it’s heading next, and how you can all be a part of it. A place that exudes fun where on any given day we can play the games of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The National Videogame Museum is located about a 5 minute drive from St. Philip's and about a 45 minute drive from our reception venue.
Kaleidoscope Park
Kaleidoscope Park is a destination where art, nature, and community come together in a vibrant, open-air setting. Designed for gathering, exploring, and simply enjoying the moment, the Park invites visitors to connect with one another through shared experiences, creative expression, and everyday joy. If you're interested, the Park is hosting their Kaleidoscope Park 5K: Music through the Generations the morning of October 3rd! Universal Kids Resort
Universal Kids Resort was specifically designed and developed for families with young children (3-9yrs), however, the park welcomes guests of all ages. UKR is about a 10 minute drive from St. Philip's and about 45 minute drive from our reception venue.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a very popular trail system with lots to offer, with a lot of natural beauty. There are paved trails, natural hiking paths, and a mountain bike trail located in the same park. While each type of trail is limited to about three miles each, you can easily loop around on dirt and paved trails to get longer mileage. Arbor Hills is located about and about 15 minute drive from St. Philip's and a 35 minute drive from our reception venue.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science
At the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, you can race a T. rex, challenge friends in robot competitions, explore the astonishing links between dinosaurs and modern-day birds, experience a simulated earthquake, journey through the universe, and test what it means to “be human”. Everything from dinosaurs to DNA to diamonds is packed into five levels of hands-on discovery and adventure to inspire the life-long learner in all of us. It's a 5.4-acre deck park over a recessed eight-lane freeway connecting Dallas’ vibrant Uptown neighborhood with its award-winning Arts District and downtown business center. Klyde Warren Park is located about a 10 minute drive from our reception venue and a 40 minute drive from St. Philip's.
