James and Tabby met shortly after starting college in 2012. Tabby's roommate, Gabby, insisted on going outside to make friends and hangout. Tabby met James as 'Pancake' (Please -ask him how he got this name, he loves to tell it!!) - She honestly didn't find out his real name for a couple of months, fresh out of high school and all too sure of himself. Tabby had a long term boyfriend at the time and had no interest in making relationships but was happy with the friendship that came along with 'Pancake'. Fast forward to 2013, their 2nd year of college.. James was living off campus and was looking for a job. Tabby was working at Michaels and had James apply for the replenishment team - James got the job and then needed a car to get back and forth.. This guy, jeez! Tabby let James use her car every morning and he was back in time for when she needed to get to work. For the next year and a half James and Tabby spent almost everyday together - James, at this point has told Tabby how he feels. Tabby was clear that she just wanted to be friends, even though there was something there and all of their friends could see it (AKA: Skinny Love)... January 2015 - James finally asked Tabby to be his girlfriend and the rest is history... They moved from house to house in Williamsport (Where James told Tabby he was no longer going to move her to another house because of the hassle that comes with moving a girl and all of her things). Then they made their way to Vermont! Living in Vermont has been an absolute dream for the two, between work, exploring and future opportunities.
James has been bringing Tabby to his grandmother's for vacation a couple of years now. Visiting Willsboro point it is a tradition to go for a golf cart ride to the point and look at to Burlington, VT from the point! It had been raining all day but James insisted on taking a golf cart ride. As they went for their cart ride, knowing the golf cart didn't have the same power it once had - James made the comment that he hoped we didn't have to push the cart back to Grammys house, since that was something that happened to them in the past. He stopped at the point entrance and Tabby asked why we were stopping there since it was about to rain. He said he just wanted to check the water level. We walked to the end of the point and he looks out and says 'You can't really see Vermont today, it's like it fell of the face of the earth'. Tabby looked out and saw the overcast and when she turned around James was on one knee and said 'I bet you didn't expect this, will you marry me?' James obviously expected Tabby's answer but they were both in awe that this was actually happening! Willsboro is the first place James brought Tabby to when visiting the North County. The point is one of their favorite places to visit every time they take a trip to Grammys and will now forever have a wonderful memory attached to the point.
