My family has a long history of "adopting" families into ours, especially those who have moved out of state -away from their actual family. Which is exactly what happened with the Holtschlag family. So thank you to my Uncle Gary for working with Tom (Zach's dad) and inviting their family to go camping with us so many years ago. It is only fitting that we are getting married in Traverse City, since that is where this whole journey started when we met in 2012!
Nothing like an awkward first date, I was sick but didn't want to bail so I sat there and watched Zach eat Red Lobster. We ended up spending hours just chatting afterward though which made up for the first half.
We spent the day together at a cousins lacrosse game where Zach got called "Pat" by my cousins grandma the entire day. That night "Pat" asked me to be his girlfriend and we were officially dating.
We went for a walk with our pups, an activity that we often do, on the first warm day of the year. Zach took me to our favorite park on Lake Winnebago and proposed in front of a beautiful lighthouse, just the two of us. It was beautiful...that is until our puppy Enzo decided to try and jump in the water!
This will be our last "dating" anniversary before becoming Mr & Mrs.
We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone on our big day!
