How We Met

4.08.2021

We met the good old fashioned way - on Match. Sarah convened with her eventual bridesmaids on a FaceTime call to consult on her profile and pictures and then proceeded to write a novel. She sat on Match for many a months with no luck and lost hope. Her six month subscription accidentally renewed, but thank god it did. Erin got a free month on Match and whipped up a profile in about five minutes. Erin found Sarah's profile and clicked the like button, unfortunately Sarah having given up all hope, didn't see it, but Erin kept hoping and hoping that some day that smoking hot babe would message her. One night, Sarah and her friend Victoria were having a virtual happy hour on a Thursday, and Victoria bluntly told Sarah she was getting on Match and messaging people tonight. Sarah proceeded to have a few drinks and complied with Victoria's request, knowing Victoria typically knew best. Sarah sent out several messages to people she saw and then FINALLY looked at her likes and messaged Erin. Everyone else got the standard "How's your week going?" or something to that effect, Erin however, got the "How's your week going? This may be cheesy but you had me at your love of learning." Erin was out with her family at a winery having a healthy amount wine slushies when she saw Sarah's message. She responded with "Cheesy is my love language." We instantly clicked and messaged all night.

Our First Dates

4.15.21

Because this was COVID times, we decided to do a vibe check - which is a virtual date on Match. Sarah scheduled it for 11am on Sunday morning so she didn't have to have anxiety the whole day. Time flew by and we chatted for two hours and only stopped when Sarah, realizing she liked her and could fuck this up if she continued much longer, said "Well I'm getting pretty hungry so I should eat lunch." Which was a complete lie. Thankfully, though Erin was confused and had no idea what time it was, she decided it would still be cool to meet up and have an official first date. Our official first date was Thursday, on April 15th. Sarah had just been to an amazing cocktail bar so she invited Erin there. Apparently, it had gone to complete shit in the two weeks since she had been there and the cocktails were awful. It didn't matter. When Sarah saw Erin as she walked across the street (Sarah was chilling on the patio) she immediately thought, "Oh she's hot!" When Erin saw Sarah she thought "Oh she's hot and a cute little pocket person." We chatted up a storm and eventually it was clear Erin was getting chilly so Sarah decided to risk COVID and suggested they go inside. Inside we were greeted with an incredible playlist of early 2000s pop music and we jammed out to N*Sync, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, and Spice Girls. When Erin started singing all of "Mmmbop" Sarah knew this was something special.
