How We Met

September 11, 2021

Andrew and I met at a mutual friend’s party, which is funny because I almost didn’t go. I was fully trying to come up with any excuse to stay home, but Mindy convinced me otherwise with, “what if you meet a cute guy there?” So, I caved… with full intentions of leaving early. That plan quickly went out the window. Not long after I arrived, a cute guy walked through the door, and suddenly I wasn’t in a rush to leave anymore. We ended up chatting throughout the night. He wasn’t making much of a move, though, so I decided to be the one to ask for his Snapchat. And we’ve talked every single day since.

The Beginning

October 20, 2021

Andrew and I had our first date at Blue Sushi in Downtown Omaha, and from the start, it just felt easy. It was the first date I had ever been on that didn’t feel awkward at all. Everything felt natural, like I had known him my whole life. After that night, we were pretty much inseparable. We spent the next month getting to know each other, spending as much time together as we could. On October 20th, 2021, Andrew officially asked me to be his girlfriend. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie when he asked. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it was simple and completely perfect for us.

Our Engagement

August 19, 2025

In August of 2025, Andrew and I traveled abroad for the first time, visiting England and Scotland, which had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. It was truly a life-changing trip, filled with so many unforgettable moments, from touring Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London to exploring the breathtaking Highlands of Scotland. On the morning of August 19th, 2025, I woke up thinking it was just another day, even though I wasn’t feeling my best. It was our last day in Scotland, and I had one very important request: I had to see at least one Highland cow before we left. Andrew found a park not far from our hotel where we could see them, so we grabbed coffee, I took some DayQuil, and we headed out. After finally seeing (and petting!) the Highland cows, Andrew casually mentioned that he heard there was a beautiful garden nearby. At that point, I started to get a little suspicious… because what guy is randomly looking up beautiful gardens? Clearly, he had done some planning. We walked up to the first garden and found a gorgeous gazebo, and I was convinced this was the moment… until we realized someone was loudly trimming hedges nearby. Andrew said, “this is nice,” and we casually moved on. The second garden? Just as beautiful… but of course, someone was right there pulling weeds. So once again, we kept walking. By the time we reached the third garden, Andrew started to slow down, and I just knew. Sure enough, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most beautiful, private, and special moment. With the countryside surrounding us, it felt like something straight out of Pride and Prejudice, which is one of my favorite movies! Because of the time difference, we kept the moment to ourselves for a few hours and spent the rest of the day soaking it all in as a newly engaged couple.
