After going out on a limb and sending a random friend request on Facebook to someone I just had mutual friends with but did not know, Stephen went out on that same limb and decided to respond by not only accepting it, but reaching out with a message as well. We began chatting nonstop for the next 36 hours before planning to meet for dinner two days later. Turns out he was impatient and decided he could not wait those two days so we met that night at Sweet Arrow Lake Park for just a casual night enjoying the waterfall, the scenery, and skipping rocks in the lake.

We were on a beach trip with some of our closest friends and went down onto the beach to take some group pictures around sunset. While Stephen was being the photographer, I decided to take Gavin’s picture to keep him occupied so he wouldn’t get wet and dirty until it was our turn to get pictures taken. I was taking his picture in front of the ocean while Stephen snuck over behind me and got down on one knee. Gavin ran behind me to him, and said “Mommy, behind you!” When I turned around Stephen asked if I would make him the happiest man in the world and marry him 😍 while everyone was lined up watching, recording, and FaceTiming! He had the whole thing planned, down to a banner, wine, and personalized cookies made and everyone on the trip was in on it! 🥰 Of course I said YES! And now we are planning our day to celebrate with all of you!
