North Cascades National Park is about 1–1.5 hours east of Mount Vernon and offers dramatic peaks, turquoise glacier-fed lakes, and scenic alpine trails. It’s a perfect spot for a day trip to enjoy breathtaking views and outdoor adventures—just be sure to pack layers, as weather can change quickly.
