We will be staying at the wedding reception location for several days after the wedding. The property, surrounded by over 7,000 acres of Willoughby State Forest, is completely private. The Notch House, the very first vacation home on Lake Willoughby, is ideally perched on the south end hillside, centered between Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor, the two mountains that form the dramatic Willoughby Gap. In addition to the majestic house, the property has a private path that leads down to the beautiful, south end coves and beaches. Lake Willoughby is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and its spectacular south end coves have the best beaches, sand, and views on the lake - a paradise for swimmers, sunbathers, kayakers, hikers, boaters, and fisherman. We welcome our guests to spend time during the weekend with us on this amazing property. Bring a book, play some games or take one of the kayaks out on the lake. Just enjoy your time with friends and family however you wish!
Take a stroll to Lake Willoughby's south beach. The beach is accessible by a short, private trail directly from the wedding venue The Notch House. Please note that it is unlikley there will be folks jbathing in the lake in October. However, the beach to the left of the end of the trail is clothing optional while the beach to the right of the end of the trail requires clothing!
