Aaron and Holly met online, in Colville, in September 2018 while Holly was on a dispatch assignment. He asked her what she was looking for and she said "Nothing serious, obviously" since she was only there for 2 weeks. Little did they know, their first date would turn into a second and third and fourth, all in a very short amount of time. Then those dates turned into traveling 375 miles (one way!) to spend weekends together. They texted all day, every day, talked on the phone and FaceTimed. In June 2019, they decided it was time for Holly and Lyla to meet Gunnar, Bailey, Austin and Aavry. Soon after, they were planning weekends together with all the kids and scheduling time together for holidays. January 2020 Aaron was offered a job with Fred Hutchinson/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and in February he made the big move to the west side of the state. In November, he drove 730 miles (again, one way) to Quincy, CA (where Holly was, again, on a dispatch assignment) with a puppy and a ring. He proposed on one knee in the parking lot of the Plumas National Forest Emergency Communications Center. Holly walked back into the office, her co-workers expecting a puppy in her arms, not a ring on her finger. Yes, she was wearing her headset. And the rest, as they say, is history.
