The town is adorable, with lots of great shops to wander and two nice parks by the lake. The best parking is behind the Sherwood.
Patisserie
4 Hannum Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152
Tucked behind the Sherwood Inn, this is our favorite bakery. You have to get a loaf of stretch bread - a crispy-yet-chewy baguette of Central New York culinary lore.
Skaneateles Bakery
19 Jordan Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152
I know we said the Patisserie is our favorite bakery, but you can't miss this one either. It's a perfect spot for a sandwich at any time of day - but watch out for the long line. Ordering pickup is the local's trick.
Doug's Fish Fry
8 Jordan Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152
A town institution serving fresh quality food since 1982! Stop inside for fried fish or a lobster roll, or check out the ice cream window - the seasonal sundae is always great.
Anyela's Vineyards
2433 West Lake Road, Skaneateles, NY 13152
A local vineyard just down the road from Rob's family lake house. They do tastings often, sometimes with live music.
Skaneateles Brewery
4022 Mill Road, Skaneateles, NY 13152
A great small-town brewery that often has food trucks. If you are staying near the venue, the Charlie Major Trail is a nice walk to get to the brewery.
Charlie Major Nature Trail
Charlie Major Nature Trail, NY 13152
An easy walk on a flat, gravel path alongside a creek, about 10 minutes outside of town. It starts just near the venue and ends right by the brewery.
Carpenter Falls
NY 13118
A moderate hike through the woods about 20 minutes from town. There is a boardwalk to look out over the waterfall, and then a dirt trail that goes to the Bahar Nature Preserve.
Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge
3395 U.S. 20, Seneca Falls, NY 13148
Montezuma is a beautiful 10,004-acre nature refuge about 30 minutes from Skaneateles with a trail network of varying difficulty. It is known as a haven for birds and is popular for bird photography. We've seen bald eagles there!
