The closest airport is PDX - Make sure you are flying into Portland, Oregon and NOT Portland, Maine! We recommend looking at www.google.com/travel/flights or www.kayak.com or a similar website to find the best flights.
There are so many options! McMenamins is a group that converts old buildings into hotels and bars/restaurants, so we recommend checking out their website for options. You can also find many hotel options on websites like www.kayak.com or www.expedia.com . You can find great last-minute deals on www.hoteltonight.com as well! Portland also has a lot of AirBnB options. We recommend the following neighborhoods: Alberta Arts District (closest to venue), King, Concordia, Hawthorne, Division, and Belmont. Portland is fairly small, geographically, so most neighborhoods are easily accessible by car, Uber, Lyft, bus, etc. Keep in mind that we are about 2 hours away from the Oregon coast. We love the coast, but it wouldn't be a convenient place to stay for this event.
You can if you want, but you don't have to! Portland is pretty easy to get around as long as you are staying in the city and not the suburbs or neighboring towns. Lyft and Uber are reliable ways to get around the city. The city bus is also a convenient, cost-effective way to get around. The venue is on several bus lines.
I don't know about all of you, but choosing what to wear to a wedding seriously stresses me out! I've put together a Pinterest board with some inspiration if it's helpful for anyone: https://pin.it/1VnCLOf Our colors are black, gold, and deep reds. Our venue is a really beautiful theater, so if you want to match the vibe: good color choices for wedding guests include jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and deep purple as well as navy blue and dark gray. Wearing black is fine, too, but the bridesmaids will all be wearing black - just FYI if you don't want to accidentally match them. Dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, suits, and dress pants with button up shirts or nice blouses are all great choices. Don't feel like you have to buy something new if you already have some nice clothes you like!
The doors will open at 5:00 pm. Plan to arrive sometime between 5:00 and 5:20 so that you can grab a light refreshment and find a seat.
There is ample free street parking near the Alberta Rose! Since the wedding is taking place on a Wednesday, you should not have any trouble finding a parking spot within a few blocks of the venue.
Driving, Uber, Lyft, and taxis are all very quick and easy ways to get to the theatre. If you are staying in a hotel or AirBnB in the neighborhood, it is safe (and flat!) to walk to the theatre. There are bus stops nearby for the following buses: 72, 17, and 70. If you're feeling adventurous and your outfit allows for it, you can even bike or ride a scooter.
Nope! We'll provide sparklers for everyone to use. We would like to keep clean-up as low as possible.
You know we love dogs, but Lucy will be the only dog in attendance :)
