Nestled within the very stylish Villa Copenhagen hotel, this bakery puts a contemporary twist on traditional danish baking - gorgeous interiors, great coffee, flaky croissants, cardamom buns and cinnamon rolls.
Amazing bakery and coffee shop. Three locations - highly recommend!
Atelier September is a charming Copenhagen café - minimal yet warm and inviting. This is a go‑to spot for locals and visitors alike seeking wholesome, beautifully presented breakfasts and lunches. We recommend the blueberry pancakes, their classic French omelette, the café’s signature whipped butter on sourdough. This place can get very busy but is walk ins only. Located in a lovely part of town for a wander.
A group of taquerias - best tacos ever. Good for a casual lunch or sneaky snack. They have a couple of locations dotted about the city.
Head here for a great New York slice.
A place where people to head on sunny days to lounge on the pier and maybe even take a dip if you're brave. Charming waterside café/restaurant/wine bar with a great relaxed vibe. Located in the harbour area. Lille bakery is a nearby gem, and if you want to have a nosy at the famous Noma - this is also a short walk away.
A tiny, takeaway focused, fried chicken burger shop. Dua Lipa says she would fly back to Copenhagen just for one of their spicy chicken sandwiches. They have a little wine bar next door called Pompette.
Casual yet elevated sourdough pizza spot.
Located in a beautiful courtyard just off Nyhavn - we love this place for a drink at the bar, a light meal at breakfast or lunch or a coffee outside in the sunshine. Light filled, high-ceilinged, Baroque styled space. The menu changes frequently but think Danish breakfast plates and ricotta toast to natural wines, oysters, burrata and tartare. A welcome none-touristy place in a touristy area.
This is a vibrant seafood restaurant in Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District (Kødbyen), founded by former Noma sommelier. The aesthetic is industrial-chic: housed in a former butcher’s hall, the space features concrete floors, subway‑tiled walls, hanging meat hooks, and a large aquarium(!)
Family run bottega and trattoria. An authentic slice of Tuscany nestled in Nørrebro. Fantastic food and service - ideal for an intimate dinner. Slightly out of the way but worth it.
Goldfinch is a stylish Cantonese-inspired restaurant tucked away in a cosy backyard off Kongens Nytorv, making it both exclusive and accessible. A red neon sign guides you through an alley to a high‑ceilinged, dark and luxurious dining room. You must have the Hong Kong style French toast with evaporated milk ice cream for dessert.
An artfully designed restaurant on the waterfront with a strong reputation in the Michelin guide. Good for an upmarket lunch or dinner with dishes from Scandinavia through to the British Isles—think Danish meatballs, schnitzel, hot‑smoked salmon, bone marrow, and waffles. You can choose à la carte or their popular tasting menu. They also have a focus on beer pairings and aquavits curated by their in‑house brewmaster,
We haven't been here yet but it's top of our list. This is a French bistro with a strong wine list and focus on seasonal, fresh ingredients.
Snug and dimly lit award winning cocktail bar in a Vesterbro basement. Feels like stepping into a 1960s living room, mid century furniture, leather armchairs, wood accents and books. Seasonal and fun menu, open 'til late.
Cosy and cool wine bar offering snacks and charcuterie.
This bar serves handcrafted cocktails served instantly from taps. All cocktails are 50dkk here. We haven't been but it looks like a fun concept. Walk ins only and open every day.
Nyhavn is one of Copenhagen’s most iconic and picturesque districts—instantly recognisable by its colourful 17th-century townhouses lining a historic canal filled with old wooden ships. Located near the city centre.
Tivoli Gardens is one of Copenhagen’s most beloved and iconic attractions—a mix of amusement park and cultural venue.
Amalienborg Palace is the official winter residence of the Danish royal family, situated in the Frederiksstaden district of Copenhagen. The changing of the guards ceremony occurs every day at noon. The Frederiksstaden district is a picturesque and walkable neighbourhood close to Nyhavn and Bredgade (a broad street lined with historic mansions and art galleries, Bredgade runs parallel to the palace and is perfect for a scenic walk). Another option here would be to walk from Amalienborg palace to the Little Mermaid statue, being sure to walk via Kastellet for some more history.
The King’s Garden is great for a coffee and stroll and is located right next to Rosenborg Castle in the city centre. The beautiful garden dates back to the early 17th century and was originally the private garden of King Christian IV. Access is free!
