Downtown San Luis Obispo
Visit Higuera st. area for great local restaurants, shopping and check out the Mission San Luis Obispo de tolosa or take stroll by the San Luis Obispo Creek.
Edna Valley, California
We love Biddle Ranch Vineyards for an excellent outdoor tasting experience. Check out Saucelito, Kynsi (one of Laurens favorite pinots), Chamisal (for cozy outdoor couches and watching the sunset over the vineyard).
Madonna Inn
If you have never been to this hoot of a hotel then it's a must see for those who love all things dripping in pink. A SLO visitors staple and the most outrageous champagne cake. Treats aren't your thing? Have a hearty breakfast and checkout the equally entertaining gift shops. If you are looking to spice it up, we hear that selecting one of their unique rooms like the "Love Nest" or the "Caveman" is sure to give you some epic Instagram worthy photos and memories.
Cayucos, CA
Fun fact! We are into antiques, and this is where our love for shopping them started. We recommend the Brown Butter Cookie Company for some goodies to share. Drinks at Schooners for an ocean view and apps. If you are feeling coastal, we love walking through Cambria just north of Cayucos then stopping in each beach town down highway 1 on the way back to SLO.
Avila Beach, CA
Walk the pier at Avila beach and grab a sando at Avila Grocery and Deli. Go for an oceanside breakfast at Fat Cats. Custom House has beautiful views for dinner and something on the menu for everyone in your fambam. We love to visit the apple orchards in Avila Valley in the fall. Avila Valley Barn has been a happy little stop for both of us. Michael likes the snacks and street corn. Lauren likes to feed the goats. Walk or bike the Bob Jones trail for a meandering outdoor experience.
Hiking San Luis Obispo County
Lauren loves to hike and Michael loves Lauren. So now we love hiking! Here are a few favorites we have done. Bishops Peak (epic Views, a decent climb from Foothill Road entrance) Froom Canyon-Irish Hills Preserve (fun loop, moderate to easy throughout) Islay Hill Trail (a Winnie favorite for running wild while her pawrents meander an easy trail) Pine Mountain Loop (where Michael proposed on an off trail uphill detour, it was perfect).
