Colorful townhouses, cobblestone streets, and plenty of shopping on M street and Wisconsin Avenue. Check out the castle-looking Healy Hall on Georgetown's campus, the old estate of Dumbarton Oaks, or the waterfront park on the Potomac.
There is SO much to do! -The National Mall & Monuments. There are tons of free museums lining the large lawns that connect the Capitol Building, Washington Monument, White House, and Lincoln Monument. Might be worth a segway tour or a self-guided walking tour. Check out the Smithsonians, the National Gallery of Art, and the African American History museum. A personal favorite is the US Botanic Garden- I know you'll be at another garden for our wedding but this one has a huge rainforest greenhouse. You can also go to the top of the Washington Monument for panoramic views if you make an appointment ahead of time. -Stroll around the Tidal Basin. The cherry blossoms will probably have already fallen off the trees, but this beautiful water walk takes you past a floral library and several monuments and memorials including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Other really cool spots include DuPont Circle, Adams Morgan, and the Southwest Waterfront. Fun fact, our first date was at Tryst (2459 18th St NW). This coffeeshop & bar is at the top of 18th street, which is a big nightlife street.
