Holland and Hannah met their second year of college after joining a sorority. Holland was unsure if she wanted to stay in the sorority until she met Hannah. From then on out Holland knew that Hannah would be in no her life forever. Through long nights studying for finals, cars breaking down in the middle of the night, boy problems, and the stresses of life, these two have been there for each other. Even after graduation these two have had many adventures in Arizona and even made sure to date two best friends so that we could see each other as much as possible;) just kidding, Justin and Mike being best friends is only a bonus I suppose. There’s no one else Holland would want by her side for her big day.
Brittney Martel

Holland met Brittney after starting as a night shift nurse during COVID. They made it through hard times together with lots of trips to Logan’s Alley for some early morning drinks after long shifts and would sometimes stay up all day hanging out after being awake all night. So many laughs and now Holland calls herself “Auntie Holland” to her son Hayes. Mike and Brittney’s husband, Alex, became close and now they all hang out together for game nights. Holland can always count on Brittney for a good time
Anna Skinner
Bridesmaid
Anna was Hollands first friend in the hospital when they both were patient care assistants and eventually nurses. They bonded quickly and began their quarterly tj max and bath and body works tradition where they spend too much money on things they probably didn’t need. Anna had the unique experience of living with Mike and Holland for a couple years and her dog Remy soon became the best friend to their dog Zadina. Holland loves spending time with Cooper (Anna’s son) and having him join in on the girl hangouts.
Shaylynn Grice

Shay is much more than just a cousin to Holland. She was a day one bestie that was always down to participate in whatever crazy things that were suggested. From choreographed dance routines to blind folded nerf gun wars, Shay is always down. Despite one living in Florida and one in Michigan, that has never stopped them from seeing each other and staying close. It’s always the best time of year when they get to visit each other. Holland has always known that Shay would be standing by her side for her wedding day.
Sophia Pfiefer

Sophia and Holland met when Sophia started dating Holland’s brother, Rutger, about 4 years ago. Since the moment that they met, Holland knew that this girl was way cooler than Rutger. She immediately vibed with Sophia and they only got closer when Sophia and Rut moved in with Holland and Mike for about 6 months. Holland and Sophia had to form a tight bond in order to maintain control over the house and continue to stay close to this day and plan hang outs that are always fun. Time together always feels like hanging out with another member of the family:)
Nicole Maiden

When Holland first met Mikes sister, Nicole, she immediately liked her. Nicole was funny, welcoming, and had such an infectious personality that Holland knew she wanted to be close with her. Throughout the years, Holland and Nicole formed a bond while being the only ones who took game night serious enough. They thrived by being on the same team and wouldn’t “cheat” per se, but they would “read each other” extremely well. Nicole never fails to make Holland laugh and Holland couldn’t ask for a better sister in law.
Justin Swisher
Best Man
Mike and Justin have known each other since High school. They became best friends when they lived together for a year and grew closer through golf and trips to Arizona. They have stayed close throughout the years as Justin and his fiancée, Hannah (Holland's maid of honor), plan trips to see Mike and Holland about every month. Justin is always there and happy to hop on the bag (caddy) for Mike in his tournaments, and the two have made some life-long memories both on and off the golf course over the past 15 years.
Terry O’Keefe
Groomsman
Terry and Mike have known each other since they were in middle school and played High School golf together. They stayed close through golf, Calder dairy trips, and late-night drives to Waffle House in Ohio. Terry is also Mike's unofficial swing coach! Terry is a friend who's always there to help, especially with house projects on very little notice.
Sean Hackman
Groomsman
Mike and Sean go waaay back when they were teammates on their u8 hockey team...they met so long ago that Sean was still using a wooden hockey stick! They continued playing hockey and baseball together from then all the way through high school, and even graduated from Wayne State together. Sean and Mike always try to make time to meet up on the golf course, at a Red Wings game, or for the occasional casino trip when Mike is in town.
Yale Benedict

Mike met Yale freshman year of college in 2016 when they both made the golf team. They instantly hit it off and bonded on long bus rides to tournaments, 7am dome practices, and playing lots of golf together. After college, they lived together for a year (along with Justin). They continue to try to meet up and golf every chance they can in the summertime, and go south on their yearly winter golf trip every year.
Austin New
Groomsman
Mike met Austin for the first time at High School golf tryouts in Mike's senior year. Austin was a Freshman and made the team, and they remained friends even after Mike graduated. Although Austin can't get out on the course much these days being a new dad, he still dedicates at least 1 weekend per year for golf in Grand Rapids. Holland usually assumes that if Mike is on the phone, it's probably Austin (or Terry calling from a restricted number). They talk weekly and bond over their love for Red Wings hockey.
Rutger Welsh

Rutger and Mike met almost 6 years ago when Mike and Holland started dating. They have grown closer over the past few years, as he and Sophia now live in Grand Rapids as well. Although Rutger and Mike hate each other's favorite college football programs, they enjoy getting together for some drinks to escape their jobs, watch a big game, or just talk about life. They have both already become brothers to one another that neither of them had growing up. Mike is proud to have Rutger as a brother-in-law and can't wait to grow even closer in the years to come.
Hayes Martel

Hayes is the son of Brittney and Alex Martel, two of our close friends. It’s been an honor to watch him grow up and to watch them grow as parents. Hayes has won us over with his goofy personality.
Cooper Skinner

Cooper is the son of Anna and Trever Skinner, both friends of Mike and Holland. Holland was able to babysit Cooper for a month and bonded with the little guy right off the bat!
Alex Martel
Officiant
Good friend of Holland and Mike who has agreed to be a part of their special day! When Holland and Brittney first introduced Mike and Alex they knew that they all had something special. A family away from family. Now Alex will honor them by officiating their vows on the big day.
Tim Grice
Usher
Tim is Holland’s younger cousin who grew up as the “baby” of the family. As he’s gotten older he’s grown close to his cousins and comes all the way from Florida to visit multiple times a year. Ever since he was little, Tim would give his brutally honest opinion about the people Holland dated/liked, which usually ended up being negative. After meeting Mike he said “I like him” which was HUGE praise coming from him.
