Larger than Central Park, this urban oasis is home to the St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, Science Center, and Missouri History Museum—all offering free admission. It’s one of our favorite spots in the city! The Jewel Box, where our ceremony takes place, is nestled within the park. Forest Park is also where we got engaged—on a bridge overlooking one of its many beautiful waterways (the one in our photos!). It’s a place full of memories for us, and we never tire of wandering its trails and gardens. In May 2025, a tornado caused significant damage to parts of the park. While some areas are still in the process of recovery, Forest Park remains a cherished landmark and one of our most beloved places in St. Louis.
Visit the Arch Grounds or take a ride to the top (nation's tallest monument!) for panoramic views of the city and Mississippi Riverfront. If you decide to visit downtown this is our recommendation to visit.
Home to over 12,000 animals, this world-renowned zoo offers free admission and engaging exhibits for all ages. In October, families can enjoy festive decorations, entertainers, special food and drink menus and more at the Saint Louis Zoo’s nighttime, non-scary Halloween experience called Boo at the Zoo. (Ticketed - be sure to book in advance!) Jen's favorite is to visit the Red Pandas ;)
Experience the St. Louis Aquarium, ride the 200-foot St. Louis Wheel, navigate a ropes course, and enjoy light shows—all under one historic roof. The Union Station Hotel is also a great spot to stay at for accommodations.
Located in Forest Park, this museum boasts an extensive collection from ancient to contemporary art, with free general admission.
We love exploring the 79 acres of beautiful horticultural displays and unique gardens.
There's a lot of amazing craft breweries in the region worth visiting. If you are looking to go big, Anheuser-Busch is worthy to visit for tour, tastings, or sit at The Biergarten. If you are interested in exploring some of the more intimate breweries, check out https://stlbeer.org/breweries/ for a list of locations across the city.
Known as the cultural heart of St. Louis, Grand Center is filled with theaters, galleries, music venues, and vibrant public spaces. A few highlights include the Fabulous Fox Theatre, a historic gem with stunning interiors, and the Arts Bar, where the rooftop is a perfect spot for a cocktail with a view of the city. The Grandel Dark Room is another great stop if you are looking for jazz music, and if you wander through the plaza courtyard adjacent to it—you’ll be walking through a space Adam helped design!
