We have had countless adventures in RMNP! Note, a timed entry permit is required to enter the park at this time. Please click the "View" button below to access the website and make your reservation ahead of time. One permit per vehicle is required. You may book in advance on August 1, 2026 at 8:00am MDT or at 7:00pm MDT the night before you wish to enter. Note, these permits go quick so planning ahead and using multiple devices to attempt to book is your best bet. If hoping to do any sightseeing along Bear Lake Road, make sure to select this option when booking as it requires a special permit. Weather permitting, another great option is to drive the spectacular Trail Ridge Road (the highest continuous paved road in North America). Downtown Riverwalk: Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the picturesque Riverwalk, which winds through downtown. It’s perfect for browsing unique shops, art galleries, and stopping for coffee or ice cream. The Stanley Hotel: Tour the historic hotel that inspired Stephen King's The Shining. They offer history and ghost tours. Or stop by to check out the lobby and outdoor space or even taste some whiskey. Local Brews & Spirits: Unwind at local spots such as The Barrel (a popular outdoor beer garden) or our favorite local breweries; Rock Cut, Avant Garde Aleworks, and Lumpy Ridge Brewery. Estes Park also has a handful of local distillery's and a winery. Estes Park Aerial Tramway: Take a ride up Prospect Mountain for incredible panoramic views of the Estes Valley and Continental Divide. (Check seasonal availability, but often runs into September) Coffee on the Rocks: Stop by for a caffeine fix and to feed the ducks and geese.
Lake Estes: The lake offers easy outdoor activities like walking or biking the 4-mile paved trail loop, or renting a pontoon boat, kayak, or paddleboard. Horseback Riding: Several stables offer guided trail rides just outside of the National Park, allowing you to experience the high country from a different perspective.
