Like many modern couples, our relationship began with a swipe back in August 2018. There was banter, there was curiosity, there was laughter, and there was a feeling there could be more to this thing. We took things offline. Our first date was at Taqueria Feliz, a funky taco spot in Manayunk, Philadelphia (which has appropriately since rebranded to Taqueria Amor, clearly inspired by us). We bonded over chips and a selection of too spicy salsas, we hit a local ice cream shop, and we hung out all night. There was definitely more to this thing. A mere 7 days later, Abby whisked off to a Parisian vacation with her sister, during which time Tom stayed over Abby's apartment to watch her cats, Emma and Ruby. It's hard even for us to believe we did this 1 week after meeting (are we nuts?), but as the adage goes - when you know, you know. Safe to say, by then, Tom was in love (with the cats). The distance made their hearts grow fonder, Abby swooned over Tom's instant connection with her girls, and upon Abby's return, their relationship was a done deal. Since then, it has been 7 years of travels, buying a home, moving states, cooking favorite meals together, sunny days hiking, eating more of Abby's Milky Way cheesecake brownies than any doctor would recommend, and lots and lots of love.
