We're getting married!

The two of us had been in classes together throughout our first four years at UF without interacting much at all. One of our last classes was a lab that had people grouped alphabetically. Somehow, the Friday 8 am session was not a popular choice, and C & H last names ended up in a group together! Em realized she recognized Daniel from playing with his band at Delta Chi's FDF (Frat Day Friday - a weekly daytime 'pregame' for the weekend). As the semester progressed, we became friends in the weekly class sessions and from the occasional friendly pass on the stairs of midtown bars as Emily left early due to attending Balls Bookstore's Friday 6-8. In October 2017, Daniel invited the team out to his favorite watering hole, The Rowdy Reptile, to meet for a drink on his birthday. We had fun chatting on the balcony, and next thing we knew, last call came around - we didn't realize how much time had passed! Two weeks later, we went on our first group "date" to the Tom Petty Memorial Concert at the local concert venue. Life after graduation took Daniel to Baton Rouge, LA and Em moved a couple months later, in December 2018. We grew into "adult" life, adopted sweet Kacey, made amazing friends, and enjoyed Louisianan traditions over the following several years. We even became Tiger fans over the years - except during UF games - GO GATA! After almost 6 years, we decided we wanted to be closer to our families in Florida and bought our first home in Em's home town of Pompano Beach, FL in May 2024. Fast forward to the proposal... Daniel reached out to Em's family and friends to coordinate a proposal over the holidays in 2024. The proposal happened at the Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale on New Years Eve. It was such a wonderful surprise! The festivities continued as Emily's parents hosted a surprise Engagement/NYE party at their house where family and friends got together! We are so excited to start this new chapter together - and to have you there with us to kick it off!
