Eric and Amy met in 2010 in an upstairs hallway of the Seattle Co-op house widely known and loved as "The BCC" (The Ballistic Chicken Coup). Amy was visiting one of the room mates. She heard a bunch of folks laughing at the end of the hall upstairs. Walking down the hall, she saw a guy with a bowler hat and a suit on stroll out the door, laughing a big, genuine belly laugh back into the room filled with people. He turned and looked surprised (to see a stranger perhaps) and then, Amy tells us: "for the first time in (what would be) our long friendship, I saw that big, genuine smile that he gets! If you've ever met Eric, you've seen it. His eyes dance, microseconds later spreading to his whole face, like somebody handed him all the joy in the world in just one moment. That smile goes all the way deep down through the heart of him!" Eric and Amy were friends, even room mates for a while. Then came a day when Eric helped Amy out of a jam, catering a friend's wedding the day after a mutual friend had suggested, half jokingly, to Amy that she should date Eric. It wasn't the first time a friend had made that suggestion, but something was different this time. They were different this time. There was a normal, friendly hug at the reception, but Amy couldn't look at him straight after that. She confessed to having a crush but assured him she was sorry about it and she'd get through it so they could go on being friends. He looked down, slowly offered his hands, palm up, looked up at her and told her, with glittering eyes, that she was one of his best friends and that he never wanted to lose her. Then he smiled and said that he was willing to give it a try if she was! What bloomed between them then, took root deep in the rich history of trust, admiration, love and respect of their long camaraderie. They are great friends, delighted to have discovered that they've grown into people who want to spend a lifetime letting their laughter light the way!
