If you know Brittany and Richard, you know Cherry Republic is a big part of their lives. Brittany worked there nearly ten years, starting when she was 14. Richard has been there 5 years, and now manages the restaurant and is a large part of the Glen Arbor campus team. Not long after Richard started in the Public House of CR, Brittany began helping out in his department. Soon she was reassigned full time in the same building and there was lots of time spent together serving patrons on trivia nights and putting in extra hours spring cleaning. "I liked to ask Richard endless questions because he seemed so quiet and it was a challenge to pull information out of him. My favorite question to this day is 'What are you thinking RIGHT NOW?'" said Brittany. After a working together for a bit, Brittany and Richard started spending time together outside of work, adventuring in nature and talking for hours on barstools. Memorial weekend 2019 Richard and Brittany spent a fun day with some friends on a boat on Lake Michigan (shout out to one of our favorite people for asking, "So are you dating?"). Later that night Richard made it official asking, "Will you be my girlfriend?" The rest is history.
After Christmas Eve Mass we headed to the Rosendall parents for a yummy seafood dinner. After dinner and some fun card games, we decided to go back to Richard's house to exchange our gifts before a busy day of family Christmas time and many, many meals. We exchanged gifts and then Richard pulled the, "Wait I think I have one more..." He disappeared briefly only to reappear with a small box and a big smile. Richard got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of forever with him. I said yes, of course!
