NEON District An area in downtown Norfolk filled with public art, murals, gallery spaces, and a creative vibe. Useful for a fun self-guided wander. Waterside District A vibrant waterfront entertainment district with dining, live music, and waterfront views. Nauticus and the U.S.S. Wisconsin This maritime museum on the waterfront offers naval history, interactive exhibits, and access to the Battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin. Chrysler Museum of Art Home to over 30,000 works and featuring a renowned glass studio.
Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach is roughly a 30 minute drive from Norfolk; they also have many things to do and check out! Virginia Beach Boardwalk and Oceanfront A classic activity: stroll or bike along the three-mile boardwalk, enjoy ocean views, stop in at cafés, and take in the lively beach atmosphere. Mount Trashmore Park A fun and unusual park: it’s built on a reclaimed landfill and offers walking trails, picnic spots, and a scenic escape from the beach crowd. Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center Perfect for families or anyone curious: features sharks, rays, and marine science displays — located near the beach.
