Kings Beach is the epitome of that funky little beach town that seems to never change. Its main road (CA Highway 28) is lined with old-timey hotels, cool shops and a good choice of restaurants. If you're looking for some late night gambling hit up Crystal Bay, Grand Lodge, or Jim Kelleys.

About 30 min north east of Carnelian bay. Beautiful drive in its own this time of year. Great downtown shops and restaurants along the river and old train tracks.
Great place to hike, bike, walk your dogs anytime of year. Plenty of different level trails to choose from the parking center and amazing views of the lake.
