Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kelsey Potter and Thomas McConnell
It's Lake Tahoe...need we say more? Most of you know the drill. Enjoy hiking, exploring different mountain/beach towns, lounging on restaurant decks at sunset, all with the most amazing view in the backdrop. The month after labor day weekend is known as "summer for the locals" in Lake Tahoe. Crowds have died down, the weather is still warm, and fall colors are just starting to trickle in. However, some suggestions for nearby staples if you need them are below.

Kings Beach

8421 N Lake Blvd, (city center), Kings Beach, CA 96143

Kings Beach is the epitome of that funky little beach town that seems to never change. Its main road (CA Highway 28) is lined with old-timey hotels, cool shops and a good choice of restaurants. If you're looking for some late night gambling hit up Crystal Bay, Grand Lodge, or Jim Kelleys.

Old Post Office Coffee Shop

5245 North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140
, (530) 546-3205

Breakfast! The locals love this place and its right across the street from our wedding venue.

Old Brockway Golf Course

400 Brassie Avenue, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148
, (530) 546-9909

For the serious golfers.

Magic Carpet Golf

5167 North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140
, (530) 546-4279

For the not so serious golfers.

Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge

1850 West Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City, CA 96145
, (530) 583-7200

Drinks and food on the deck for great views of the lake.

Chambers Landing Bar & Grill

6300 West Lake Boulevard, Homewood, CA 96141
, (530) 525-9190

Drinks and food on the deck for great views of the lake. Try a rum runner for a drink that's just as dangerous as Garwood's Wet Woody!

Incline Village

Incline Village, NV

Incline is home to some of Lake Tahoe's most stunning mountain retreats and upscale hotels in the area. This eastern North Shore enclave features some of the areas most relaxing beaches and a genteel approach to Lake life.

Truckee

Truckee, CA

About 30 min north east of Carnelian bay. Beautiful drive in its own this time of year. Great downtown shops and restaurants along the river and old train tracks.

Brockway Summit Tahoe Rim Trail Trailhead

Tahoe Rim Trail, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148
, (775) 298-4485

Great place to hike, bike, walk your dogs anytime of year. Plenty of different level trails to choose from the parking center and amazing views of the lake.

For all the days along the way
