- Our Story -

The first time Luke and I went out, Luke picked me up at my apartment in Rochester, Minnesota. He pulled up in his shiny Silverado, which he was very proud of, and made sure to point out that it was extra clean that evening. I, being very nervous about how handsome he was, right away reached out to shake his hand. Who knew that we would continue to joke about that smooth move 3 years down the road. From there, we enjoyed a burger and fries on a rooftop downtown. A couple of weeks later, Luke invited me to go to the free Cassadee Pope concert with him in the park at the Rochester Civic Center. When I arrived, he was handed off to me by one of his good friends -- who was nervous now? After those first two dates, we continued to spend countless hours together. From walking the trails in Quarry Park to spending time with family and scouting for deer in Blooming Prairie. We very quickly became two peas in a pod. Fast forward almost one year later: On a Sunday morning, after rock climbing at a local gym, we went to a nearby brewery to enjoy a pizza and beer. This was when Luke told me he was thinking of moving to Colorado and asked me to consider joining him. I thought he was nuts, but I was also quite relieved, mostly because his nervous behavior had me thinking that he was planning to break up with me (ha!). After multiple conversations and planning, Colorado became our home away from home and where our relationship, and most importantly, friendship, immensely developed. Together we have spent many days hiking mountains, fishing rivers, and camping in new places. Our favorite Colorado find has been Lake Granby, which we both have agreed reminds us of home. Every Friday during the summer, we pack our bags and the truck for a weekend of camping in Lake Granby. Fun fact: our average packing time has easily reached under 30 minutes! When we realized that we didn’t have a problem living out of a tent together every weekend, we knew that this was something real.
