FAQs

Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception are taking place at The Hubbell 45th Parallel Barn, located at 2084 US-31 S, Kewadin, MI 49648. The barn itself does not have signage, but there will be signage placed for the wedding to help direct you once you are close.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Lucky for you, you get to experience the best of both worlds (weather permitting)! The ceremony will be held outside, while the reception will be held inside the barn. Dress appropriately, it’s going to be peak fall in Northern Michigan so your guess of the weather is as good as ours!

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. Keep in mind (as stated above), that the wedding is indoor/outdoor in northern Michigan, which has unpredictable weather during the fall months. Plan your outfits accordingly.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for roughly one hour. Guests can head directly to the barn where appetizers and refreshments will be served for cocktail hour from 4 pm - 5 pm.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You'll be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no" so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive roughly 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Question

Where should I park? Is parking free?

Answer

Space for parking will be clearly marked near the barn, and there is no fee to park for the festivities.

Question

Can I bring a date and/or children?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget and within our allotted space. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only and we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Is there a hotel room block for guests?

Answer

Unfortunately due to the busy time of year in the region, no room blocks were available for our wedding weekend. Please visit the "Travel" page on our wedding website to see a list of recommended places to reach out to about booking a room. Additionally, we recommend booking your room NOW if you plan on attending as rooms will sell out fast during this time of year.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

We aren't going to throw a party without the good stuff! A buffet-style dinner will be served, and a full bar will be available throughout the evening. Note that licensed bartenders will be serving beverages and will require proper ID to serve alcoholic drinks.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Please visit the "Registry" page on our wedding website to view our full registry list.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to take photos and share them on your social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #hitchinghubbell so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
