Haldi: Means turmeric, and the event involves applying a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, rosewater, and sometimes oil to the bride and groom’s face, neck, hands, and feet. Pellikuturu: literally means "Bride-to-be" in Telugu. The bride changes into a new saree and is adorned with flowers and jewelry. Elders bless her for a happy married life.
