Best Man
I met Buggie on our Jr. High baseball team. We became friends after I invited him to play Over the Line (OTL) at Fiesta Island and stayed in contact ever since. Buggie is one of the most positive people I've ever met in my life, he's hilarious and will always make you feel welcome in any situation. He is the one and only person who convinced me to join the Navy and be a Corpsman. I will never forget the time when Buggie showed up to my Fire Academy graduation which was totally unexpected, that meant a lot to me. Your friendship directly changed the course of my life and I am forever grateful. By the way he sells insurance so bring a copy of your auto policy to the wedding and he might be able to save you some money.
Maid of Honor
Kelly and I met in 2011 when we worked at Wells Fargo together. Kelly is the kind of person that you instantly love because of her huge heart and amazing smile! We became fast friends and we have truly spent the past 9 years growing up together. Kelly has always been by my side, knows exactly what to say, and gives the best advice. Cheers to the next journey and many more together my friend!
Groomsman
Jesse and I have been friends since K-Division soccer, YES...as in Kindergarten! A lot has happened since then! From family vacations to San Felipe in Mexico, to Halloweens in Tierrasanta, to our OTL traditions at Fiesta Island and ALL the other memories in between...Avery takes the Longest Friend Award. Jesse is a loyal friend and has always had my back.
Bridesmaid
Hannah and I played volleyball at UAF for 4 years, and despite the distance now, we still talk on the regular. Hannah is known for being hilarious without even trying...and she has the best one-liners! Besides her comedic talent, I love that I can talk through anything with her. I am so grateful to call Hannah a best friend, and to have her in my life! I also can't wait to finally meet little Easton!
Groomsman
I met Jake aka "JG" while working at Fort Greely Fire Department in Alaska. Jake is like the little brother Jess & I never had. He's got a Michigan accent, starts every story with "Ok, there I was..." and has hilarious one liners. Jake proudly served our country in the USMC doing crash fire rescue. Jess and I have a goal to get Jake moved to Texas, hired at Fort Hood, and married to a nice country girl.
Bridesmaid
Alexa (aka "the Shermanator") was one of my very best friends in college (and still is)! She also happened to be an all-star setter at UAF. I remember before we traveled to Alaska for pre-season freshman year, Alexa reached out to introduce herself and to get to know me. There was no doubt in my mind that we would be lifelong friends. Alexa and I spent a majority of our college life joined at the hip. I can't believe she is a mom now! So many laughs...so many memories...so many dime sets...so many reasons to love you!
Groomsman
I met Spencer while working at Camp Pendleton in the Navy. I always respected him as a knowledgeable Corpsman that took care of his patients. We got along well because we share many of the same views towards work. I always told him he was wise beyond his age. Spencer and I went on countless hikes with the Marine Recruits, we treated more pink eye and nasty feet than you can imagine. Back then, the best part of my day was our 15 minute breaks at the PX where we'd grab a monster and talk about life. Drinking beer and playing golf was always a blast too. Spencer is a really smart guy, but he still hasn't figured out one thing...that is being a fireman is the best job in the world. I still try to recruit him every time we talk.
Bridesmaid
Erica joined the UAF volleyball team when I was a sophomore. As soon as we met, I knew we would be fast friends because of her sense of humor and her ability to make light of any situation. One of my fondest memories was holding on for dear life (I lost count how many times) together while coach was driving on road trips. Erica is one of the calmest people I have ever known and could settle me down when I would get stressed about school or life in general. Erica is one of the few players that still lives in Fairbanks with her husband and two sweet boys. I really admire Erica and hope I can be more like her someday. I am excited to celebrate with you!
Bridesmaid
Melissa and I also met playing volleyball together at UAF. One of my favorite things to do was try and make Melissa laugh because she had such a great laugh. A "go-to" volleyball drill in college was hitter vs. blocker where the hitter would either try to hit past the block or tool the block. Melissa and I would say the most ridiculous things during the drill to try and throw the other person off...I think sometimes we even made coach chuckle. We miss you Melissa, but I know you will be close by.
