Question

How do I register for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)?How do I register for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)?

Answer

Guests traveling from the United States (and most other visa-exempt countries) will need to apply for a UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival. The easiest way to do so is directly on your phone through the UK ETA app, which guides you through the process step by step. The application costs £10 and is typically approved within 24 to 72 hours. Once approved, your ETA is valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first, and allows multiple entries into the UK during that time. We recommend completing your ETA application when you book your flights.

Question

should i make a trip out of it?should i make a trip out of it?

Answer

It would be wrong not to! We encourage our American guests to make the most of their time across the pond. Enjoy the countryside, take the train into London, or head for mainland Europe. London has 5 airports servicing the metropolitan area, each with great options to/from mainland Europe. Use google flights, type "LONDON" into the origin airport, and you're off to any European hub!
