Our Story

We have been friends for four years and dated for almost three. We met at work. He managed the Visitor Center and I worked in the upstairs office marketing Fort Worth to visitors. We talked and visited each other often and it grew from there. We both loved each other's giving spirits, sense of humor, sense of adventure and unique perspective. We have loved, in this time of uncertainty, being certain about each other and while the world is rebuilding, being able to create our own space in it.

The Proposal

We had been busy at work with different events for weeks, so it was the last thing on my mind when we went to church on June 20. On the way to Church we received a text message from our Production Designer that there were photos needed for a new campaign (all part of an elaborate ruse Austin set up). After Church, we decided it was a beautiful day to go ahead and snag some photos of the Amon Carter American Art Museum. When we got to the museum Austin took some exterior shots until we were both in the middle of the courtyard overlooking the whole skyline. That's when he put his camera away and came back out with tiny box and got on one knee. As soon as he did I in total shock said "Today??" we had talked about getting married but who knew he was able to pull it off right in the busiest season of our jobs. He asked "Hillary Maris Dupriest, will you marry me?" and I immediately said, "Yes, of course". Unbeknownst to me, Austin had managed to have my whole family in Fort Worth waiting to have a fun dinner, along with his family. He had thought of everything! He even managed to get a couple of days off so we could both enjoy being engaged and having family with us.

How We Spend Our Time Together

We love giving back and supporting each other in outreach. He works with Tarrant Transit Alliance, I volunteer at Cook Children's on Saturday and work with WestAid. We both are given opportunities to give back to our community through work and Church. I love going to his weekly ice hockey games and cheering in the stands. He and his dad are in a recreational league. We love walking Nessie (the boxer dog), going on bike rides, watching tv shows and cooking together. But our favorite thing is going on Sunday adventures, where we drive somewhere cute within about a two-hour drive (sometimes longer or shorter) and see a pretty place or eat somewhere fun. We love going to small towns, the time we have in the car to chat and being able to get away for a little while.

For all the days along the way
