We met in Ann Arbor while both working at a brewery. Trevor was working as a bus-boy while taking summer classes at the University of Michigan, and Hillary was working as a hostess while completing a marketing internship. It took a month for Trevor to ask Hillary out, but when he finally did it was the best first date she ever had!

It all started with a vacuum cleaner. Ok, let me back up... it was Christmas 2016. Hillary had been complaining about the never-ending task of cleaning up after an 80 pound four-legged fur-ball, a.ka. Lola (who had already bested two vacuums). Well, Trevor and Heather (Hillary's mom) must think alike (scary I know!) because they both bought the same vacuum cleaner for Christmas. We opened presents with Hillary's family on Christmas eve, so Hillary opened Heather's vacuum first. Trevor realized he had about 12 hours to think of a new present. After a few subtle hints he could do with something a bit more romantic, he had Hillary open the vacuum anyway. Except he had put a picture of Machu Picchu inside the box. Fast-forward to September 2017, and we embarked on a 5 day hike on the Salkantay trail in Peru, culminating in a visit to Machu Picchu (a bucket list trip). After finishing the official tour, we wandered around the ruins. While posing for a photo, Trevor got down on one knee. Thanks for the Dyson, mom!

We couldn't be more excited to embark on the next chapter of our lives together. Both of us grew up in Michigan so it seemed only fitting that we would have our wedding there. Crystal Lake has always held a special place in Hillary's heart, and we can't wait to share the magic of "up north" with all of our friends and family.
