Blake’s is a good time for all members of the family! From hard ciders, to fresh apple cider (we LOVE the frozen ones!), to the fresh donuts that are sure to be the best you’ve had! We recommend this stop!
It isn’t the Henry Doorly! But they have some different things there! The aquarium is nice, the butterfly house is HUGE. FYI: you do have to pay for parking here
This is considered a state park. Located right in the detroit river smack dab between Canada and Detroit! Take a lap around the island, get out and walk a little!
Yes, you can see Canada!! Windsor, Ontario is located directly across the river from Detroit. Canadas flag is HUGE on the river walk! You can even go into the GM Renaissance Center! If you continue to walk through downtown Detroit there are a ton of historical buildings! Down Woodward Ave is good shopping; lululemon, underarmour, Moose Jaw, etc. greektown casino is also located downtown!
You can reach Windsor from the ambassador bridge or through the Windsor/Detroit tunnel. You must have a passport or enhanced drivers license. Depending on protocols, vaccine cards and/or a negative Covid test up to 48 hours prior may need to be provided. We suggest you look into this before planning this. But of course, the poutine in Canada is amazing!
This mall is 2 malls in one: the normal side, and the expensive side! There is a chik-fil-a here though.
Outdoor mall!
This park is located right on lake st Clair! There’s nice paved walkways, a nice park area. You can see deer, turtles, cranes, foxes. There are places to go fishing. You’ll probably see yachts while walking! FYI: it’s $10 to go in a for a day…but it’s worth it. It is patrolled by metro park police, so it is safe. Dogs must be leashed while in the park…the cops will yell at you or possibly ticket you.
