Below is a short list of some of our favorite restaurants in Rye and surrounding areas. The list covers everything from an elegant sushi to a greasy burger joint.
Although a little expensive, this is one of our favorite restaurants for sushi. Highly recommend sharing some small plates and indulging in their sushi by the piece - we typically start with a chef selection 5-piece and add from there. Located in Downtown Rye. Reservations are a must.
Kelly’s Sea Level – Another of our favorite spots. This local stomping ground and dive bar is a low cost but never disappointing option. Highly recommend the chili burger and onion rings (Alex) or the salmon dinner and baked potato (Hilary). Although the church pew like seats have never been accused of being comfortable this is a great spot for a quick burger and a beer. (No Reservations)
Bar Rosina's is one of our favorite spots to go with a group so we can order a large assortment of dishes to share. They are well known for fresh pastas, crispy New York style pizzas and strong cocktails
This is one of our newer favorite spots serving great Italian cuisine. In the unique setting of an original 1950’s diner, complete with authentic chrome accents and retro bar stools, this surprisingly chic restaurant is classy and charming. Combined with the attentive and hospitable staff, it is an unforgettable place that brings loyal customers and admirers.
At the center of Rye, this chic, casual and comfortable French inspired restaurant charms guests with its varied menu, friendly and professional service, and its lively ambiance. Ruby’s stylish decor showcases an authentic Parisian zinc bar, beaded chandeliers, a coffered ceiling and marble mosaic floors.
The Rye Roadhouse – This is a hidden gem in Rye and another local stomping ground. Tucked back in a more residential area many locals might not even know this place exists. Their menu offers a selection of Cajun and Creole options and just overall great pub fare.
The long table in the bar will be the location for the After Party!!! Located next to the Rye Metro North Train Station, RGB is a great classic American restaurant with a diverse menu. You can enjoy 'fan favorites' like our Fried Calamari, Goat Cheese Salad, Cajun Chicken Quesadilla, Four Layer Dip and Rye Grill's Signature Dish: Farfalle with Hot Italian Sausage, Kalamata Olives and Spinach in a Light Tomato Cream Sauce.
Located in the heart of downtown Rye, Aurora is a brightly lit restaurant serving up brick oven pizzas, handmade pasta and many other classic Italian comfort staples. Offering a warm and inviting atmosphere, Aurora is the perfect destination for any special occasion or a night out with friends. Our menu features a variety of appetizers, pizzas, pasta dishes and entrées that are unique in flavor and presentation.
Start your day by grabbing a quick coffee at our favorite coffee shop in Rye. We discovered their great espresso drinks at their first location in Larchmont and were thrilled when they opened their second outlet in Rye.
If you are seeking a bit more of a cultural experience, consider visiting The Bruce in Greenwich, CT. It's a short drive from Rye and is an art, science and natural history museum. Its permanent exhibition spaces feature a minerals gallery, a marine tank, and displays that explain the environmental and historical development of the area.
Playland is one of the oldest amusement parks in the country operating since 1928 and home to the Dragon Coaster - an old wooden rollercoaster.
