What is the attire for the Hilary and Alex's Wedding?

Answer

Just shy of black tie, because who wants to wear a tux in late July? Suits are recommended for men, think festive and dressy for ladies. If your favorite dress is long, go for it! If you prefer short, also great. Provided we have good weather, the ceremony and cocktail reception will be on the lawn, choose shoes appropriately.

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, let's plan to let loose and dance under the stars without them. Please let Hilary know if you might be in need of a babysitter. She would be happy to help you coordinate for the night of the wedding.

How should we plan to arrive at American Yacht Club?

Answer

If you are coming out of the city, Metro North to Harrison or Rye is the way to go. Taxis are available at the train station. Uber/Lyft are an option too. If you are staying at the Courtyard Marriott Rye, we are arranging transportation to and from AYC. Post the wedding, the transportation option will likely include a stop in town (see below about an afterparty). Ubers can be hard to call to AYC later in the evening, but are much more accessible in town.

Is this a BYOY (bring your own yacht) event?

Answer

If you would like, we would be delighted if you would like to bring your boat and stay overnight at AYC. Please let Hilary and Alex know and they would be delighted to help coordinate with AYC's waterfront to arrange for dock space or a mooring.

Will there be an afterparty?

Answer

YES! The fun will continue post reception in town at the Rye Grill and Bar. We recommend that you board the bus at American following the Reception which will delivery you to RG&B. Ubers/Lyft will be accessible from the afterparty which is also across the street from the train station. Taxis can be found too.
