If at first you don't succeed, try try again. That is what I imagine Brian thinks every time he reflects on how we came to be a couple. Augustana College was bursting into a mirage of green the summer of 2008. All the fall athletes had arrived a few weeks early on campus. I was nervous with apprehension, coming from Colorado to a brand new state, community, and team. I didn't realize how lucky I would be to stumble across this small liberal arts school on the lip of the Mississippi River where I would find my best friends, passion for writing, and future husband. Brian and I met within the first few weeks of freshmen year of college. Brian being on the basketball team, and I the mysterious soccer girl with excellent hair and a perverse nickname. I would like to say it was a lightning attraction, with a romantic tension in the air, but unfortunately, this was only true for one of us. Of course, my soccer skills caught his attention (he was a ball boy). How could you blame his allure to my witty charm? The boy had a crush. Did I notice his quiet yet confident demeanor? Yes. Did I find his crystal blue eyes pleasing? Who wouldn't? You could sink a ship in those baby blues. Did his jump shot sing like a Whitney Houston song as it soared through the air? Of course. But I was focused on expanding my education at Augusta, and yes, I had a boyfriend. But Brian waited patiently. We maintained a friendship, until at last, our senior year, the stars aligned and there was a new energy to our friendship. All of Brian's dreams came true when I finally agreed to be his girlfriend. 4 years of waiting and we quickly became a couple & best friends. Since college, we've traveled the world, backpacked thousand of miles. We've poured our love into our friends, our passions with photography and videography, and our dog, Deuce. We've considered each other life partners for some time, now it's just time to make it official with a bitchin' party.

Ashley Higuchi was born on February 20, 1990 in Laguna Beach, CA. Brian DeSimone was born on January 10, 1990 in Arlington Heights, IL, yes, they are the same age. They met and fell in love in August 2008 at Augustana College in Rock, Island, IL. Some people say they are attached at the hip since they live together, run a business together, work out together, go to the grocery store together, cook together, take their dog, Deuce, on walks together, travel together, and hang out with their friends together. Brian and Ashley are getting married together on April 3rd, 2021 in Prineville, Hawaii.

We've been lucky enough to travel to all kinds of places and meet all kinds of people. We've seen the magic that happens when a group of people explore, gather, and celeberate in a new place together. We'd like to try to create a little bit of that magic during our wedding weekend in one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world, making memories with all our favorite people that we will share for the rest of our lives. We, of course, know that not everyone will be able to make it to Kauai. But we want you to know, if you're here reading this, you are important to us and we love you no matter if you're near or far.
