Its the Spring of 2011, Michael and Natalie meet at Chase Bank in Fontana, California. Michael preaches that he influenced the hiring manager to add Natalie to the team. Nonetheless, they became coworkers and friends who would go out for happy hour with their co-workers after a hard days work! They were on completely different pages at that time, Michael would go on to further his career in banking and leaves to San Francisco and Natalie continues her education in criminal justice. Social media keeps them connected, otherwise they don't see each other again until 2016. Michael comes home one day and craves chicken enchiladas and he sends Natalie a message through Snap Chat (uh-oh!) to invite her to Paul Martin's for these amazing chicken enchiladas. They meet the following day and to Michael's surprise he discovers that Natalie is a vegetarian. It all goes south from there. THE END. Just Kidding! Of course... They catch up on the latest in each others lives. Michael shares his passion for music, Natalie shares her interest in the vast ambiguous world, yummy food, her appreciation for cats, and they discover that they both love Vodka Tonics with Kettle One Vodka! Their vibe takes life with delicious cocktails, good food, and thought provoking conversations that compliment both of their passions. Natalie was attracted to Michael's confidence, and Michael was attracted to Natalie's conversation. The enchiladas led to continued opportunities to learn about one another, international adventures, and sharing custody of a spoiled beagle named Jorge.
Michael and Natalie had a long day at work and an even longer commute in traffic, its Friday night and they go to their favorite pizza spot, Paulie's in Upland for dinner and drinks. They have one of their usual talks about life and ambitions over Vodka tonics and jalapeño pizza. Upon arriving at home they decide to rent a movie to end their Friday night. Natalie goes to wash her face and with soap in her eyes she notices Michael trying to get her attention, she shoos him away and as her vision clears she notices Michael on his knees with a shiny black box. Her confused excitement impairs her hearing and she hears him say that he appreciates her, her anticipation relents, and she opens the box. It's a treble clef necklace with a diamond in the middle. Her gratitude is trumped by her expectation of a proposal and she beats Michael up. He laughs, gets up and asks her if she wants some water to drink. Natalie brushes him off and goes to bed. Michael returns to her bedside, tells her he brought her water, she reminds him that she didn't want any. Natalie wiggles with frustration for him to go away, and sees that in his other hand he has another black box, he tells her to open it. She says NO! They bicker for a minute, and she apprehensively opens this second black box. With her eyes slowly peeking into the box they quickly enlarge as she discovers a beautiful engagement ring. They both shed some tears and he expresses to her that he would like to spend the rest of their lives together. With some lingering soap in her eyes from the face wash, Natalie accepts the invitation.
